Good Sammy

Good Sammy is a proud Western Australian organisation with a vision to transform workplaces and society through disability employment. MKDC was proud to collaborate closely with Good Sammy to transform their head office and cafeteria in Canning Vale, enhancing functionality, comfort and accessibility for everyday use.

The brief focused on creating spaces that better support staff, trainees and visitors, while clearly expressing Good Sammy’s values through the built environment. The upgraded spaces promote collaboration and wellbeing, providing environments that are welcoming, practical and dignified.

The project included an extension to the existing building to accommodate a new reception and dedicated training rooms. MKDC was responsible for both the interior and architectural design of the extension. We worked closely with structural engineers and landscape architects to deliver a cohesive, community-driven outcome that enhances the building’s street presence and supports intuitive movement throughout the site.

The new reception provides a clear, accessible and uplifting point of arrival, with strong connections to Good Sammy’s branding through the use of colour, materiality and form, improving wayfinding and first impressions for visitors and participants. The training spaces were designed to be flexible and inclusive, supporting a range of learning styles and the diverse programs delivered by Good Sammy.
