ABW Office Fitout – State Government Agency, Perth CBD
MKDC delivered a comprehensive ABW office fitout for a State Government Agency in the Perth CBD, transforming the workspace for over 600 staff. From the outset, the project focused on creating a flexible, collaborative, and future-focused ABW environment. The design replaced the traditional one-desk-per-person layout with an agile model that supports modern ways of working.
To ensure the new agile workplace met operational needs, MKDC led detailed briefing sessions with the Executive Leadership team and business units. These sessions helped capture requirements and informed a tailored ABW office solution that enhances staff engagement, productivity, and wellbeing.
The fitout integrates cutting-edge technology, including wireless connectivity, digital room booking systems, interactive collaboration tools, and follow-me printing. Additionally, MKDC incorporated sustainability and wellness principles. Biophilic design, recycled materials, energy-efficient lighting, and eco-friendly finishes support the agency’s environmental goals.
The office includes sit-to-stand desks, multiple meeting and focus rooms, collaborative hubs, wellness rooms, and prayer spaces. It is easy to navigate, ergonomic, and reflects the agency’s brand identity. Together, these elements create a modern, sustainable, and high-performance ABW workplace.
Throughout the project, the executive leadership team made key decisions. MKDC collaborated closely with them and the project manager, ensuring smooth approvals and a seamless transition to the new agile office environment.
