Western Australian Treasury Corporation (WATC)

The West Australian Treasury Corporation (WATC) has occupied its Perth office tenancy for more than 20 years. To support modern workplace expectations, WATC engaged MKDC to deliver a refined Perth office fit-out design that reflects professionalism and long-term flexibility.

As the State’s principal financial authority, WATC required a workplace that projects confidence and credibility. The office also needed to accommodate regular visits from government officials, stakeholders, and clients. MKDC approached the design with a clear focus on clarity, functionality, and timeless appeal.

The workplace centres around a calm, unmanned reception area that creates a strong first impression. Handmade terracotta breeze blocks define the space and serve as a feature wall between the waiting area and the meeting rooms. This design move adds warmth and texture while maintaining privacy and openness. The reception sets the tone for the rest of the office and reinforces WATC’s professional standing.

Throughout the workplace, MKDC introduced a restrained interior palette inspired by Western Australian flora. Natural tones, subtle textures, and durable finishes create a calm and enduring environment. These elements support focused work, formal meetings, and collaboration without visual distraction.

MKDC designed the office to support future ways of working. The layout is Activity-Based Working (ABW) ready, giving WATC flexibility to adapt as work patterns evolve. Staff can transition easily between focus work, collaboration, and meetings as organisational needs change.

This Perth office fit-out demonstrates MKDC’s expertise in delivering high-quality government and corporate workplaces. The project balances elegance with practicality and supports both staff performance and external engagement.

Through this project, MKDC continues to strengthen its reputation in Perth office fit-out design, delivering workplaces that combine thoughtful design, functionality, and longevity for public sector and corporate clients.
