Due to be in construction late 2020, Brightwater are working to create an intergenerational campus hosting their new head office and flagship residential aged care facility in Inglewood.
The ground floor of the development is home to Brightwater workspace and Community Link. This provides collaborative meeting and training space shared between the RAC and corporate workplace. It also links to their Wellness Hub, featuring a hair salon and physiotherapist.
The new RAC facility focuses on creating homely, residential scale interiors, bringing the outdoors inside by enhancing opportunities for natural light. MKDC have used the site context to inform the colour palettes and narrative which are tastefully woven through two residential aged care floors. These each have 4 houses in line with best practice dementia care principles and the small house model.
Informed by an Australian mid-century aesthetic, homeliness is achieved via timber accents and thoughtfully selected furniture items.
This project is a MK + MJ joint venture with the talented team at MJA Studio.
